achieved?

And what have those despised
(even by youths yet to test
their high opinions of their prowess)
achieved?

Which achievements
are mere greed or show
that will be undone
by inevitable indignant reaction?

And which achievements
(like stitches
binding pieces of fabric together)
will provide what is necessary
for those traveling
between this time of infantile celebration
& neglect of victims
of uncounted & uncountable crimes
thru the time of turmoil
which no preparation or reform can long delay
into the scarcely imaginable time beyond?
